Role Description
The CT Technologist role is a full-time, on-site position based at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA. This role is responsible for performing high-quality CT imaging studies according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic information. The CT Technologist prepares and positions patients, explains procedures, administers contrast as directed, and monitors patient safety and comfort throughout the exam. Daily responsibilities include operating CT equipment, verifying patient identification, reviewing medical histories for contraindications, and collaborating closely with radiologists, nurses, and other care team members. The CT Technologist also maintains equipment and exam rooms, adheres to radiation safety and infection control standards, documents procedures in the electronic medical record, and participates in quality improvement and continuing education activities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong CT imaging and general radiologic technology skills, including operation of CT scanners, patient positioning, and adherence to imaging protocols.
- Candidates should possess practical knowledge of radiation safety, contrast administration, and emergency response procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Candidates should possess patient-centered skills such as clear communication, compassionate bedside manner, and the ability to support patients of diverse backgrounds and ages.
- Candidates should possess collaboration and teamwork skills, including working effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail and documentation skills to accurately record procedures, follow orders, and maintain regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; ARRT (R) certification required, with ARRT (CT) preferred or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- Current state licensure as required for CT Technologists in Washington, and current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Previous CT experience in a hospital or acute care setting is highly beneficial; experience in a community-based health system is a plus.
