Credit Manager

About This Role

This Credit Manager role involves comprehensive credit underwriting and assessment for SME/MSME and unsecured loan proposals. The position is responsible for managing portfolio risk, ensuring policy compliance, collaborating cross-functionally, and conducting field due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed credit appraisals for SME/MSME and unsecured loan proposals
• Analyze financial statements, cash flows, bureau reports, banking behaviors, and risk factors
• Prepare clear credit appraisal memos with risk insights and sanction recommendations
• Dispose of cases assigned for underwriting in a timely manner
• Monitor portfolio health, identify early warning signals, and recommend corrective actions
• Control delinquency and ensure risk exposures stay within defined limits
• Track performance trends and support measures to reduce NPAs or deteriorate assets
• Ensure strict adherence to internal credit policies, IFSCA guidelines, and regulatory norms
• Suggest enhancements to underwriting frameworks and credit processes based on market conditions and risk experience
• Prepare new product frameworks that can be launched to meet client requirements under regulatory guidelines
• Work with sales and business teams to balance risk and growth objectives
• Coordinate with operations, legal, valuation partners, and auditors to support seamless credit processing
• Ensure documentation meets internal standards and regulatory requirements
• Undertake field visits and borrower interactions to validate business information and understand local market dynamics
• Conduct proper due diligence as part of credit evaluation and risk validation
• Maintain accurate credit records and prepare periodic MIS for leadership

Requirements

• Experience in credit underwriting and assessment for SME/MSME and unsecured loan proposals
• Ability to analyze financial statements, cash flows, bureau reports, banking behaviors, and risk factors
• Knowledge of internal credit policies, IFSCA guidelines, and regulatory norms
• Strong understanding of portfolio health monitoring and delinquency control
• Capacity to prepare new product frameworks
