Credit Manager

About This Role

The Credit Manager is responsible for making timely, well-founded credit decisions within their assigned work area and authority. This role supports DAF/PACCAR's sales activities while ensuring timely receipt of payments and minimizing credit losses. For credit applications outside of their authority, the Credit Manager provides advice and recommendations. They also develop and implement credit guidelines, ensuring compliance with DAF/PACCAR's credit policy, procedures, and objectives, and work closely with the European Credit team and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing credit risks for the sale of trucks, parts, and services
• Perform in-depth financial analyses of dealers and customers and prepare credit proposals
• Make timely, well-founded credit decisions within assigned credit authority
• Propose alternative credit solutions where necessary and ensure appropriate collateral
• Clearly communicate credit decisions to relevant stakeholders
• Build and maintain personal relationships with internal and external stakeholders within and outside the assigned markets
• Communicate professionally, balanced, and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure timely receipt of financial reports, monitor their quality, and prepare performance reports
• Effectively manage collection activities to achieve objectives and minimize overdue payments
• Provide timely, qualitative input for various reports

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Business Economics, or a comparable field
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing
• Thorough understanding of risk management
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Credit Management or Accounting, preferably within a production environment or dealer network
• Strong communication skills, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and willingness to travel
• Ability and willingness to work accurately
• Proactive attitude focused on identifying and implementing structured improvements
• Determined and able to perform well in a demanding environment
• Experience with Six Sigma or data analysis tools is a plus
