Credit Manager

About This Role

Caring for the company's credit policies and processes is the core of this Credit Manager role, which involves ensuring compliance, training the team, and achieving productivity targets. The role suits a candidate with strong credit adjudication experience who can work collaboratively with various departments and support operational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Credit policies and processes are followed
• Ensure your team is trained on all policies, processes, and regulatory requirements
• Ensure your team’s productivity SLAs, quality standards, and KPIs are achieved
• Ensure that policy escalations and decision-making adhere to proper authority levels
• Work closely with Senior Managers in Originations to ensure a full understanding and execution of the credit risk strategy
• Perform audits as required and oversee remediation activities arising from audit and compliance findings
• Review audit and compliance findings and implement corrective actions as required
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and retention of bilingual staff within the Credit department in Montreal
• Complete regular check-ins, performance reviews, coaching discussions, and mid-year/year-end evaluations through written and verbal communication
• Work collaboratively with Sales, Income, Funding, and Dealer partners to support operational objectives and customer service excellence
• Assist in ensuring all documentation, communications, and processes supporting Quebec Credit operations are available in both official languages and comply with business and regulatory requirements
• Support the team during periods of high volume, complex escalations, or business-critical initiatives
• Support the review of credit applications and documentation processes to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Monitor operational trends, productivity metrics, and quality outcomes and recommend improvements to leadership aimed at enhancing efficiency, compliance, and customer experience

Requirements

• Secondary School diploma
• Minimum of 5 years of Credit adjudication experience
• Experience in a financial institution and knowledge of the auto industry
• Strong understanding of Equifax/Trans Union credit bureaus
• Experience with LOS software systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
