About This Role
Operating cranes to provide lifting and hoisting services to customers is the core of this job. The Crane Operator is responsible for setting up, inspecting, rigging, and operating cranes, ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear
- Attach load to rigging to provide support or prepare for moving using hand and power tools
- Connect pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts, shackles, and clamps
- Clean and dress machine and surfaces of parts
- Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces
- Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment
- Manipulate rigging lines and hoist to move or support materials, steel, concrete, etc.
- Select gear, shackles, and cables according to load size, facilities, and work schedule
- Signal or give verbal directions to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and materials
- Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting or lifting
- Respectfully confront people when needed and lead through example
- Complete ProLift Specific, Regulatory and Identified Equipment training through our internal LMS system
- Complete 3rd party and customer required training to gain on-site access
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Communication skills
- Reasoning ability
- Understand safety procedures and demonstrate good safety awareness
- Willing to travel
- Pass a drug test and background check
- HS diploma or equivalent
- CDL
- CLASS A or B required
