Salary: $130,000 - $165,000 (Based on experience)

The Role: Tax Manager

As a Tax Manager, you will serve as a cornerstone of our firm's operations. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will oversee the intersection of tax strategy and financial reporting. You aren't just reviewing files; you are managing a book of business, mentoring a talented team, and acting as a primary advisor to diverse clients in manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and professional services.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement Leadership & Review

• Technical Oversight: Lead and review complex tax engagements, including federal and multi-state returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Financial Integrity: Review financial records, reconciliations, and tax provisions to ensure technical rigor and accuracy.
• Specialized Advisory: Manage complex partnership ownership changes, IRC Section 754 basis step-ups, and hedge fund reporting for wealthy clients.

Client Strategy & Relationship Management

• Trusted Advisor: Act as the primary point of contact for a diverse client base, offering proactive guidance on tax planning and system design.
• Proactive Planning: Identify opportunities for tax minimization and long-term financial success before the year-end close.
• Communication: Maintain professional, transparent communication with clients regarding project status, billing, and strategic shifts.

Operational & Team Growth

• Mentorship: Train and supervise staff and seniors, conducting performance evaluations and fostering a culture of accountability.
• Workflow Management: Oversee scheduling and project execution to ensure efficiency and meeting of all deadlines.
• Firm Development: Contribute to process improvements, technology adoption, and the expansion of the firm's business network.

What You'll Need

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation or Accounting is highly preferred.
• Licensure: Active CPA license is required.
• Experience: 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience , with a proven track record in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Technical Depth: Expert-level knowledge of tax law, accounting methods, and financial reporting.
• Attributes: An entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to be responsive to client needs, and a commitment to integrity in every detail.
