Job Title: County Jail Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary
The County Jail Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive healthcare services to inmates within a correctional facility. This role includes medical assessment, treatment, medication administration, and emergency response while ensuring compliance with correctional healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial health screenings and ongoing medical assessments for inmates
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or life-saving care
- Monitor and document patient health status and progress
- Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and correctional staff
- Ensure compliance with correctional healthcare policies and procedures
- Educate inmates on health conditions, medications, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR/BLS Certification (required)
- ACLS Certification (preferred)
Experience Required
- 1–3+ years of nursing experience (correctional or emergency experience preferred)
