Counsel Attorney

About This Role

This role is for an experienced Of Counsel Attorney to join a growing Texas defense practice, focusing on insurance defense litigation. The position involves managing complex litigation from inception through resolution and handling a diverse caseload for national insurers, transportation companies, businesses, and self-insured clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex litigation from inception through resolution
• Handle a diverse caseload involving commercial trucking and transportation defense, construction defect litigation, general liability defense, and personal injury defense
• Take ownership of files
• Handle depositions
• Draft and argue dispositive motions
• Participate in mediations
• Work closely with clients throughout the litigation process

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Texas Bar license
• 7-10+ years of insurance defense litigation experience
• Experience handling commercial trucking and transportation matters preferred
• Background in construction defect, general liability, and personal injury defense
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
