We are looking for a Cost Improvement / VEVA Specialist to drive value engineering initiatives across our Airbag Division. This strategic role will work closely with cross-functional teams throughout North America, supporting airbag manufacturing locations in Canada, US, and Mexico while helping achieve our direct material cost reduction targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive cost reduction initiatives focused on direct materials and product value optimization.
- Facilitate ideation and value engineering workshops to generate innovative savings opportunities.
- Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Business Units to identify, evaluate, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Build robust financial business cases to support project approvals and implementation.
- Ability to learn ECAN and other VEVA applications to become subject matter expert on business tools to develop and validate savings opportunities.
- Coordinate alignment among key stakeholders to successfully execute approved initiatives.
- Support achievement of VEVA and SmartBOM objectives for the Airbag Division.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely execution and delivery of results.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience in cost reduction, value engineering, program management, purchasing, product engineering, manufacturing, or a related function- Preferred.
- Experience with airbag or automotive safety restrains- Preferred.
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional workshops for ideas generation.
- Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to build compelling business cases.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations to management and leadership teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerBI.
