Cost Accountant

About This Role

Developing and maintaining standard actual product costs across multiple product lines is the core of this accounting role, which supports the consolidation of the company's North American operations. This position suits a highly analytical professional with strong IT capabilities to streamline processes, develop operational insights, and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard actual product costs across multiple product lines
• Analyze raw materials, labor, and overhead costs to ensure accurate product costing
• Perform cost variance analysis and identify key drivers impacting profitability
• Actively collaborate with production teams at two plants to understand manufacturing processes and cost drivers
• Conduct regular plant visits to gain firsthand knowledge of operations and validate cost assumptions
• Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of new costing processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in food manufacturing
• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
