Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of beauty treatments including hair styling, coloring, extensions, makeup application, and hair threading to meet clients’ individual needs
- Use salon software systems such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process transactions efficiently
- Maintain strict sanitation standards by cleaning tools, equipment, and workstations according to industry regulations
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and provide expert recommendations on hair care and styling options
- Offer retail product advice and assist with store management duties such as inventory monitoring and merchandising
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair cutting, coloring, barbering (including straight razor shaves), and other beauty services
- Stay updated on current trends in hair styling, coloring techniques, and overall beauty industry developments to ensure innovative service offerings
Requirements
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of diverse services including hair care, coloring, extensions, and makeup application
- Skilled in various hair techniques including styling, coloring (color theory), hair extensions, and barbering (straight razor shaves)
- Excellent communication skills for effective client consultation and building lasting relationships
- Knowledge of sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff
- Ability to operate retail math for product sales and manage store inventory efficiently
- Strong understanding of cosmetology principles combined with an eye for current trends in hair styling and makeup artistry
