Job Title: CoS Proctor - Student Service

City: Indianapolis

Job Summary

The College of Science in Indianapolis is seeking up to four Student Proctors. The seven departments, most notably Mathematics, in the College regularly require proctors for in-person examinations, including makeup and alternate examinations. All of these examinations require careful proctoring. Proctors will be expected to independently start, monitor, conclude, and process examinations. Proctors will report directly to the Senior Operations Specialist for the College of Science in Indianapolis and indirectly to the Instructional Support Specialist for Mathematics in Indianapolis.

Job Duties:
Facilitate the timely start of make-up examinations, including proper organization and check-in procedures.Monitor in-person examinations in accordance with the Purdue standards of academic integrity. Perform specific directions depending on the course for which you are proctoring. Scan exams and scantron forms when necessary. Be on-call for more general evening examinations and work cooperatively with other instructors and teaching assistants in this process.

Candidate Requirements:
Must be a Purdue student based at the Indianapolis location

Maintain Good Academic Standing and at least a 2.50 Cumulative GPA as of date of application.

Must be available from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at least two weekdays during the semester.

Be available for evening exams beginning at 6:30pm or 8:00pm whenever possible

Preferred Qualifications

Show strong communications and organizational skills

Display leadership and ethical skills and the ability to make sharp decisions

Show responsiveness and professionalism in communications with supervisors, students, and faculty

Demonstrate punctuality along with flexibility.

Availability to work in-person year-round, i.e. during the Summer.

Development Opportunities

Student will work directly with faculty and staff to maintain operational effectiveness in educational settings

Application of rules of academic integrity in real-life situations

Ability to think and respond carefully and professionally if faced with dishonesty or duplicitousness

Working with certain clerical and educational computer systems
