About the role

Duties

Responsible for developing and executing business plans that include corporate strategies to increase awareness and revenue among target customers across all lines of business. Provides input and engages with divisional program leads, personnel at headquarters and across regional installations on business development opportunities, programs and strategies that integrate into the strategic plan. Interfaces with installation personnel, industry marketing, media personnel, other governmental agency personnel, and public affairs officers to introduce or implement business development strategies, concepts and share best practices.

Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company mission, vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base area and contributes to the development of programs for clients and sponsorship.

Develops business plans and sales strategies for that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects. Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed. Conducts one-on-one review with team to build more effective communication, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of team’s sales and activity performance. Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance. Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect proposals submitted for approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.

Maintains accurate records of all costs, sales, and activity reports submitted by team. Assists team in preparation of proposals and presentations. Develops sales goals and manages cost center budgets. Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team. Recruits, tests, and hires team based on criteria agreed upon by senior management. Responsible for team processes and has oversight for a contracts administration platform that proposes, contracts, tracks progress and performance and financial management.

Insures that team meets or exceeds all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes. Delegate’s authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up. Sets examples for team in areas of personal character, commitment, selling skills, and work habits. Conducts regular coaching and counseling with team to build motivation and selling skills. Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of satisfaction. Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all MCCS Divisions.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing/sales or related field preferred. 4 years of experience in sales/marketing management. Experience with current software programs. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
