About the role
If you’re a Corporate M&A lawyer ready to take the next step in your career, this is an opportunity to join one of Auckland’s most highly regarded corporate teams.
You’ll work alongside experienced practitioners on sophisticated transactions for an impressive mix of clients, including listed companies, private equity investors, international corporates, business owners and major investors.
The work is varied and high-value, spanning M&A, private equity, takeovers, joint ventures, merger clearances and foreign investment matters. You’ll gain exposure to complex transactions while working closely with clients and senior lawyers who are leaders in their field.
This would suit a lawyer who enjoys technically challenging work, has strong commercial instincts and wants to build their career within a genuinely high-performing team.

Duties

  • Advise clients on corporate and M&A transactions
  • Support acquisitions, disposals and investment deals
  • Assist with private equity and joint venture matters
  • Conduct transactional due diligence and documentation
  • Advise on regulatory and foreign investment requirements
  • Work directly with clients and senior deal teams

Skills & experience
To be considered for this role, you will be a NZ admitted solicitor with at least 2 years' PQE gained in corporate/commercial law, ideally within a leading law firm or professional services environment.
You’ll have experience working on M&A or corporate transactions and possess strong technical and academic credentials.
You’ll be commercially minded, confident working with clients and able to manage your own workload with initiative. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues will also be important.
Most importantly, you’ll be ambitious, curious and motivated to continue developing your career within a sophisticated corporate practice.
