Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded AM Law 50 international law firm seeking a Corporate M&A and Private Equity Associate to join its Los Angeles office.

This role offers sophisticated buy-side and sell-side transactional work for corporate clients and private equity sponsors, with meaningful ownership of drafting, deal management and execution. The successful associate will have substantial direct client contact and the opportunity to manage matters with increasing independence.

The Role

The successful attorney will support and lead key components of Corporate M&A and Private Equity Associate matters, including:

• Advise corporate clients and private equity funds on acquisitions and dispositions.
• Support minority investments and other strategic transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate principal transaction documents.
• Manage transaction processes and coordinate workstreams through signing and closing.
• Apply a strong understanding of corporate law and prevailing market terms.
• Support general corporate matters arising alongside transactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a Corporate M&A and Private Equity Associate with:

• Law school class year 2021 or later.
• Significant experience handling M&A transactions.
• Strong understanding of corporate law and market terms.
• Substantial experience drafting transaction documents and managing deals.
• Strong writing, judgment and organizational skills, with the ability to take on substantial responsibility and work autonomously.

Preferred / advantageous: A business-development-oriented mindset and an entrepreneurial approach to client relationships are particularly valuable.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $310,000-$420,000, depending on experience, qualifications and other relevant factors.
