Corporate Counsel

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of construction law, contract negotiation, and risk management
• Working knowledge of labor and employment law, including union environments and workforce regulations
• Understanding of regulatory requirements impacting construction including prevailing wage, licensing and safety
• Excellent judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business priorities with integrity
• Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex agreements with strong attention to detail
• Practical, solutions-oriented thinker who brings creativity and ingenuity to problem-solving
• Clear communicator who can translate legal concepts into actionable guidance and build strong relationships
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Success advising business leaders on complex legal and operational issues
• Experience negotiating contracts and resolving disputes while protecting company interests
• Proven ability to reduce risk and improve outcomes through practical legal strategies
• Track record of supporting claims, disputes, and outside counsel management effectively
• Contributions to compliance programs, training, or initiatives
• Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, required
• Eligibility to register as in-house counsel in Colorado, required
• Progressive experience in construction law, commercial contracting, or a related field in a law firm and/or in-house setting
• Experience supporting project-based or operational teams in the construction industry or similar environment
• Demonstrated growth in responsibility, operating as a trusted advisor to the business

Important Details

• Working Conditions: The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment. Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
