Corporate Counsel

About This Role

This Corporate Counsel role is for a legal professional with strong communication skills and extensive experience in contract drafting and negotiation. Working within the Legal department, you will provide strategic legal advice on commercial transactions, collaborating with internal stakeholders and business groups.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage commercial contract negotiations with strategic partners and customers
• Collaborate and advise internal clients on complex commercial transactions, mitigating legal risks and providing practical, business-oriented guidance
• Advise and support sales and operations on a wide variety of complex commercial agreements, including direct engagements and supply agreements with customers and partners
• Review, draft, and negotiate agreements with vendors and critical suppliers, partners, and customers in a complex supply chain
• Develop and customize novel agreements without the use of templates
• Use excellent business judgment to assess legal risk, drive projects, and identify pragmatic and creative legal and business solutions
• Build relationships with various teams and internal clients across the organization to collaborate, identify and resolve issues, and drive deals to completion

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to the bar in good standing
• 5+ years of legal practice experience at a law firm and/or in-house, including drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
• Knowledge of commercial laws and substantial expertise with a wide variety of commercial transactions, including developing, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with multi-national companies
• Ability to shift priorities and handle multiple, competing tasks under tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail
• Strong organization, problem solving, and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise and build relationships with management, team members, and cross-functional partners
• Passion for personal accountability and setting high standards is essential for success
• Ability to travel
