Corporate Counsel

About This Role

Providing legal advice and counsel to all affiliates, including hospital operators and employed physician practices, is the core of this role, assisting the Chief Legal Officer and the PHC Legal Department. This position involves reviewing and advising on contracts, real property, mergers, claims, litigation, and internal policies, as well as coordinating outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Legal Officer and the PHC Legal Department in providing advice and counsel to all affiliates, including hospital operators and employed physician practices
• Provide legal advice on matters impacting the organization, which may include physician and vendor contract review, real property and leases, mergers and acquisitions, claims management, litigation management, and medical staff matters
• Review and advise on the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures
• Assist with the coordination of outside counsel resources

Requirements

• JD from accredited law school
• 5 years of professional work experience, including experience as an in-house counsel with a for-profit or not-for-profit health care system and/or with a major law firm dealing with health care contracting, legal and compliance issues, including experience dealing with government regulations relating to contracting, health care law and compliance program implementation, and general statutory issues
• Experience in legal research and legal agreement drafting
• Admission to State Bar upon hire
