About the Opportunity

The Coordinator, Patient Access (Care Coordinator) role is focused on facilitating patient access to specialty therapies by managing communications and processes that support patient onboarding and adherence. This position plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely assistance and resolving inquiries to support therapy continuation, thereby directly impacting patient experience and outcomes.

Responsibilities

Handle inbound and outbound calls to address patient and provider needs with one-call resolution where possible.

Report adverse events within required timeframes.

Accurately create and update referrals and applications, staying informed on policy and procedural changes.

Investigate and resolve patient and physician inquiries promptly.

Enter detailed data into proprietary software during calls.

Conduct outbound calls for patient follow-ups and confirmations.

Provide high-quality customer support with empathy and effective communication.

Coordinate with patient referral sources to process new applicants.

Manage patient accounts from initial contact through final approval or denial.

Prioritize multiple assignments and work with urgency.

Educate and support patients during calls to enhance their experience.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

1-3 years of related experience preferred.

Customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge of call center or customer service processes preferred.

Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies preferred.

Familiarity with diagnostic medical expense and Medicare administrative contractor practices preferred.

Knowledge of medical, supplemental, and pharmacy insurance benefits preferred.

Strong written and oral communication, mediation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to connect effectively with patients, caregivers, and providers.

Flexibility, persistence, creativity, empathy, and trustworthiness.

Proficient computer skills including data entry and MS Office.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Hourly range: $17.90 to $25.80.

No bonus eligibility.
