About the role
Role Overview The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that enhance residents' dining experience while maintaining a safe and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals following standardized recipes and menus
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet established standards
- Follow dietary modifications and special meal requirements
- Record production quantities and food safety temperatures
- Stock, rotate, date, and store food according to safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage, and equipment areas
- Complete cleaning logs and equipment maintenance reports
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
- Support dishwashing and dining services as needed
- Lead food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to prepare meals that meet nutritional and presentation standards
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
- Organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and safety
- Ability to support team operations and step into leadership when necessary
