About This Role

This newly available opportunity is for a Controller to join an established, rapidly growing PE-backed healthcare services organization. The role is ideal for a strong Accounting Manager ready to step into a Controller position or an experienced Controller who enjoys being hands-on and working directly with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day accounting function and financial reporting
• Partner closely with the Interim VP of Finance and COO
• Work with the medical billing team and oversee the accounting side of the revenue cycle
• Support FP&A, financial analysis, reporting, and business data initiatives
• Assist with acquisition integrations and accounting for newly acquired practices
• Improve and automate transactional accounting processes
• Work with external CPA firms on tax returns and financial reviews
• Analyze business performance and provide financial insight to senior leadership
• Help develop and refine financial systems, processes, and reporting
• Present financial information to senior leadership and potentially the Board

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Multi-site medical practice accounting experience
• Experience within a physician practice, specialty practice, outpatient healthcare, or similar clinical environment
• Strong understanding of healthcare accounting and medical billing
• Experience with QuickBooks and healthcare/EHR systems
• Strong technology and systems aptitude with a data-driven mindset
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with physicians and senior leadership

Nice to have:

• Experience supporting acquisitions/integrations
• FP&A and financial analysis experience
• CPA or public accounting experience
