Control Room Operator

About This Role

Operating from the site's Control Room, the Control Room Operator plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, security and day-to-day operations of the premises through effective monitoring of CCTV systems, incident management, alarm response and support for operational teams. This role also involves supporting the site's car park facilities, including patrols, customer assistance, and ensuring safe and efficient vehicle movements. It is ideally suited to an individual with previous Control Room or CCTV experience who can remain calm under pressure, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV systems and respond to incidents in accordance with site procedures
• Operate and monitor access control, alarm management and life-safety systems
• Maintain accurate Control Room logs, records and incident reports
• Respond to emergency situations and escalate incidents where appropriate
• Liaise with site management, emergency services, contractors and operational teams
• Investigate incidents through CCTV review and evidence gathering
• Monitor site activity and identify potential security, safety or operational concerns
• Support the effective operation of the site's car park facilities
• Conduct regular car park inspections and patrols
• Assist customers with parking enquiries and provide a high level of customer service
• Monitor traffic flow and report any issues affecting the safe operation of the car park
• Report maintenance defects, hazards and operational issues
• Ensure compliance with all Assignment Instructions, site procedures and Health & Safety requirements

Requirements

• Valid SIA CCTV Licence
• Previous experience working within a CCTV or Security Control Room environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong IT skills and confidence using CCTV and monitoring systems
• Excellent attention to detail and observational skills
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
• Professional approach with strong customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• SIA Door Supervisor/Security Guarding Licence
• Previous experience within a customer-facing environment

Important Details

• Schedule: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, days, 07:00-19:00 – average 42 hours per week
