The Job You Will Perform:
The Containerboard Commercial Analyst position is an integral part of Containerboard Finance and directly supports the FP&A Manager. This position is a unique opportunity to work directly with the business in a fun and fast paced environment all while prepping the individual for future advancement within the team and Finance. The position is a critical business partner to the sales organization within Containerboard. Key customers include the Finance Director, GVP CB & Recycling, VP CB Commercial & Strategy, Director Export Sales and the CB Pricing Team. This role is responsible for providing the following services:
- Business partner analytics for the sales organization
- Prepare and analyze business-wide operating results and trends
- Provide detailed sales (customer & product profitability) analysis
- Cross train on manufacturing analysis
- Division journal entry completion for unique non-recurring items
- Internal and external reporting
- Support quarterly FGO Balance Sheet Reviews & internal/external audits
- Optimize new automation tools to drive efficiencies (VIP, PowerBI, etc.)
- Ad hoc analysis
Key Accountabilities:
- Developing relationships with business partners in order to provide customer focused value analytics for the sales organization to support business decisions
- Learn to prepare and analyze business-wide operating results and trends for variance reporting and month/quarter end close
- Developing skills to provide detailed sales (customer & product profitability) analysis as required by the sales organization
- Cross train on manufacturing analysis in order to provide support as necessary
- Maintain accurate books and records in addition to maintaining a strong internal control environment
Key Challenges:
- Build relationships with key stakeholders (Sales, Finance, & Manufacturing)
- Learn business acumen, key metrics (ROI, ROIC, etc.) and drivers
- Implementing new automation tools to drive efficiency
- Understanding pricing dynamics both domestically and abroad
- Learn reporting and analytical systems (SAP, Excel, BPC etc.)
- Gain familiarity with historical results in order to provide forward looking analysis
- Gain familiarity of key business structural changes and their impact
The Skills You Will Bring:
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business
- Track record of being a self-starter
- Natural curiosity for learning and process optimization
- Working knowledge of SAP/Business Warehouse & BPC
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
- Drive for Results
