About the role

Duties

Serve as recognized scientific-regulatory expert in matters related to Data Quality, Management Reporting.

Define and establish data quality rules, in collaboration with the Data Managers, identify data risks, and establish definitions and strategy for data quality improvement consistent with organizational strategies and goals for data governance and data standards.

Support quality data input (e.g. metadata) and outputs (e.g. reports) from regulatory systems.

Assist data input personnel to ensure best practices and complete, contemporaneous and accurate data entry. Develop supporting tools to ensure quality data input.

Conduct routine monitoring of data integrity and issue quality event issues/reports. Work with quality personnel to facilitate data quality monitoring and issue resolution.

Maintain thorough knowledge of the program, as well as, precedent and current policies and guidelines in order to evaluate the impact of new/revised policies under consideration.

Qualifications

All applicants must meet the following Basic Education requirement for the Consumer Safety Officer (Data Quality), GS-0696-14.

A. Degree: that included at least 30 semester hours in one or a combination of the following: biological sciences, chemistry, pharmacy, physical sciences, food technology, nutrition, medical sciences, engineering, epidemiology, veterinary medical sciences, food technology, nutrition, medical science, engineering, epidemiology, veterinary medical science, or related scientific fields that provided knowledge directly related to consumer safety officer work. The 30 semester hours can include up to 8 semester hours in statistics, or course work that include principles, theory, or practical application of computers or computer programming.

B. Combination of education and experience: courses consisting of at least 30 semester hours in the fields of study described in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

AND

In order to qualify for Consumer Safety Officer (Data Quality), GS-0696-14, you must meet the following:

Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, to include experience planning, organizing and implementing projects related to data information management and data quality initiatives, consistent with strategies and goals for data governance and data standards, used to track, manage and report on regulatory submissions for products regulated under the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act.
