About the role
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and technically sound Consultant to support greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, corporate carbon footprint assessments, energy audits, decarbonization strategy development, and sustainability advisory assignments. The candidate will work across multiple industry sectors and support organizations in measuring, managing, and reducing their environmental impacts in line with global standards and best practices.
The role requires strong analytical capabilities, understanding of industrial energy systems, and practical knowledge of GHG accounting methodologies, energy efficiency opportunities, and sustainability reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
A. GHG Inventory and Carbon Accounting
Conduct organizational and operational boundary assessments for GHG accounting.
Identify and map Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emission sources across business operations and value chains.
Develop GHG data collection templates and coordinate data collection from client stakeholders.
Validate activity data and assess data quality.
Calculate GHG emissions using recognized standards and emission factors.
Support preparation of corporate carbon footprint reports.
Assist clients in developing GHG management frameworks and data management systems.
Conduct emissions hotspot analysis and identify major contributors.
Support external assurance and verification activities.

B. Energy Audits and Energy Management
Conduct preliminary and detailed energy audits at industrial and commercial facilities.
Analyze energy consumption patterns and identify inefficiencies.
Review utility bills, energy balance data, and operational practices.
Perform equipment-level assessments covering:
HVAC systems
Boilers
Compressed air systems
Motors and drives
Pumps and fans
DG sets
Lighting systems
o Renewable energy systems
Develop energy-saving opportunities and estimate potential savings.
Conduct techno-economic feasibility assessments.
Prepare audit reports and implementation roadmaps.
C. Decarbonization and Sustainability Advisory
Support development of net-zero and decarbonization roadmaps.
Evaluate renewable energy procurement opportunities.
Assess carbon reduction interventions and mitigation measures.
Support Science-Based Targets (SBTi) assessments.
Assist in climate change and sustainability-related consulting assignments.
Conduct benchmarking and sectoral analysis.
D. Data Analysis and Reporting
Analyze large datasets related to emissions, energy consumption, and sustainability performance.
Build emissions calculation models and dashboards.
Prepare client presentations, technical reports, and workshops.
Develop executive-level insights and recommendations.
Maintain project documentation and knowledge repositories.
Desired Qualifications
Education
Mandatory:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent
Preferred:
M.Tech / MBA in Energy Management, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Climate Change, or related disciplines
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
One or more of the following:
Certified Energy Auditor (BEE)
Certified Energy Manager (BEE)
ISO 14064 Lead Verifier
ISO 50001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor
GHG Protocol Training Certification
GARP Sustainability Climate Risk (SCR)
IGBC Accredited Professional
Carbon Accounting or Life Cycle Assessment certifications
Experience
2-4 years of relevant experience
Experience in:
