Construction Sales Engineer - Low/Medium Voltage Switchgear

About This Role

This sales engineering role focuses on selling Low/Medium Voltage power distribution products in the San Diego market. It involves developing and supporting distributors and electrical contractors, with an emphasis on securing projects through the construction channel. The position suits a seasoned sales engineer with experience in this product line and market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support distributors and electrical contractor opportunities
• Focus on achieving projects through the area Construction Channel
• Provide market presence and channel support to achieve share growth
• Fully utilize Sie Sales as a tool to develop and forecast contractor opportunities
• Provide product support for Panel boards, Switchboards, Medium Voltage gear, Lighting Panels, Low Voltage Switchgear, Busway, Motor Control Centers, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, IEC/NEMA Control, Safety Switches, and Residential Products
• Build and maintain a business plan by cultivating a healthy sales pipeline
• Uncover new opportunities, follow up on leads, and manage existing customer base
• Develop and implement plans for strategic accounts that exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty
• Build long-term relationships with senior management at key customer accounts, solution partners, and channels

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (combination of education (HS Diploma or GED equivalency is a minimum requirement) and directly related work experience will also be considered)
• 10+ years of sales experience
• Ability to travel 5% of the time
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization

Nice to have:

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years experience in selling to local electrical contractors
• 10+ years of sales experience with LV/MV power distribution product line
