About This Role
As a Construction Manager in track construction maintenance at Deutsche Bahn, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing projects that ensure the infrastructure remains robust for future generations. This role is ideal for an engineer who is ready to take on significant responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage track construction projects, including vehicle, machinery, and resource deployment
- Provide technical support and ensure the reliable and economical provision of dual-purpose excavators, track construction machinery, locomotives, and other superstructure technology
- Ensure timely, quality, and cost-effective project execution, including documentation and reporting
- Manage and coordinate internal departments, clients, manufacturers, maintenance personnel, and other external partners
- Participate in acquisition, proposal preparation, calculation, and customer-oriented development of the service portfolio
- Monitor safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness while identifying and managing project and operational risks
Requirements
- Successfully completed degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable qualification as a master craftsman or technician with relevant professional experience
- Several years of experience in track construction, railway infrastructure, or technical management of construction machinery and rail vehicles
- Good knowledge of technical regulations, operational processes, and ideally contract and change management
- High initiative, strong organizational and communication skills, and entrepreneurial thinking
- Commercial understanding and experience in project management, cost control, and resource planning
- Class B driver's license, nationwide travel readiness, and proficiency with common IT applications
