Construction Manager, Retail

About This Role

This role is for an experienced Construction Manager to join Meta's Retail Design & Build team. You will drive the end-to-end construction of new retail stores, from initial design to new store openings, using your problem-solving skills, technical acumen, and business insight to streamline the process. The position involves transparent communication across all levels, motivating multidisciplinary teams, and championing best practices to deliver impactful outcomes that advance Meta's retail strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Retail Store
• Manage the budget associated with the project
• Manage the cost change process and negotiate best pricing
• Manage the schedule and associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates
• Manage warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment when/as necessary
• Communicate upward regarding the status and risks of the project
• Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed
• Mitigate risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership
• Develop cost savings solutions and identify project savings/underruns early
• Partner with the General Contractor and other Vendors to build collaborative relationships
• Partner with Internal Cross Functional Partners to build collaborative relationships
• Coordinate needs and asks with the Procurement/Sourcing group(s) to support the needs of the Project
• Support the pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects
• Promote prefabrication strategies
• Support the development of Capital Project Budgets and Construction Rough Order of Magnitude estimates
• Support the on-site inspection process to ensure a zero punch-list and an expeditious turnover to Facilities Operations
• Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies

Requirements

• Bachelor's in engineering or construction management or equivalent work experience
• 12+ years of experience in construction project management, including planning, budgeting, and delivery of construction projects
• Multi-Project experience in large scale construction management, mission critical, infrastructure, and/or retail construction
• General knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of capital budget management and contract administration
• Negotiation skills and experience providing solutions to problems
