Construction Manager, Charging

About This Role

This role involves overseeing the construction and implementation of Tesla Supercharging infrastructure projects. It is a crucial position for a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of project management, ideally with a background in design, engineering, or general/electrical contracting. The successful candidate will demonstrate innovation, agility, quick thinking, and excellent leadership to ensure the successful deployment of evolving charging solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage General Contractors to ensure work is performed efficiently, code compliant, spec compliant, and meets environmental and safety standards
• Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective and innovative solutions without compromising on quality or safety
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify work performed
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions to problems in construction
• Work with various internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services
• Responsible for all aspects of the construction process from project bid to closeout
• Communicate effectively, both orally and written, and prepare weekly construction reports with photos, schedule, etc. for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• 4+ years of project management or field construction management experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, a related subject, or equivalent experience
• Ability to travel (60+%) required with ability to obtain a US passport
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple active construction projects simultaneously
• Understanding of construction processes, including contracts, budgets, change orders, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and material procurement
• Strong understanding of AC and DC power, transformers, circuit protection, single-line electrical and mechanical diagrams, and construction drawings
• Strong leadership capability, with competency using digital tools and software
• Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to civil and electrical construction
