About This Role
This Construction Advisor role supports the NEP HCCP Project on a PSC Agency basis, focusing on Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) construction activities. The role provides on-site safety and construction leadership to ensure activities are delivered safely and efficiently, in line with the approved schedule and best practices. This position is based in the Humber region and involves occasional visits to Wood's Staines office.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for all Trail HDD Construction activities
- Assure integrity of Trial HDD Contractors' methods and schedule
- Provide technical oversight and assurance of contractor deliverables
- Provide daily activity reports detailing working conditions, progress, and issues (Safety, quality, performance)
- Support NEP QS in managing contract interfaces
- Manage project scope
- Ensure the project Quality Management System supports deliverables preparation and method of execution
- Ensure instructions are issued to allow work to progress and facilitate agreement between conflicting requirements, leading the way forward
- Challenge working methods and deliverables and ensure the team knows and complies with project scope
- Understand project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and ensure these are managed correctly
- Identify risk and implement mitigations
- Verify site activities' compliance with the contract and HSSE requirements
- Verify the contractor’s progress
- Prioritise the contractor’s activities in line with the project schedule
- Monitor and report on contractors' performance (Cost, Schedule and KPIs)
- Implement and monitor MOC and Risk Management processes relevant to the Trial HDD scope
- Manage interface between Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractors
- Support FEED scope with construction expertise
- Provide input into engineering deliverables (PL route, crossing etc.)
- Lead constructability review
- Support DCO examination stage
- Provide input into the Execute schedule and Cost estimate
Requirements
- Extensive pipeline and Horizontal Direct Drilling (HDD) construction advisor experience
- Personal commitment to safety and cyber security through behaviour, awareness, and work with Contractors to ensure that the required attention is given
Important Details
- Schedule: initial 8-month contract, with potential for extension
