Responsibilities
- Prepare concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure accurate placement and finishing of concrete elements
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and cutting tools to facilitate efficient pouring and finishing processes
- Install rebar and formwork according to specifications to support proper concrete placement
- Execute concrete pouring, finishing, sealing, and caulking to achieve desired textures and durability
- Ensure compliance with construction workplace safety regulations by adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to coordinate tasks on construction sites for seamless project execution
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction tools, equipment, and materials used in concrete finishing
- Experience with construction estimating to assist in planning project timelines and resource allocation
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings for accurate execution of work
- Skilled in concrete forming, formwork construction, rebar installation, and drywall installation as needed
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and the safe operation of power tools such as saws, grinders, and drills
- Familiarity with construction site experience including renovation projects, restoration work, flooring installation, tile laying, stucco application, metal stud framing, and flooring installation
- Ability to perform concrete cutting and concrete pumping efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Understanding of construction safety regulations including OSHA guidelines to maintain a secure work environment
