About This Role
This physically demanding, hands-on position involves placing and finishing concrete for various construction projects, including curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. The role suits a dependable and experienced concrete finisher who is team-oriented, safety-minded, and willing to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the construction of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks, and other concrete work
- Place, spread, level, and finish freshly poured concrete
- Screed, float, edge, trowel, and broom concrete to the required finish
- Form and finish concrete to proper line, grade, slope, and elevation
- Assist with setting, stripping, and cleaning concrete forms
- Assist with placing rebar, wire mesh, and other reinforcing materials
- Use hand tools, power tools, screeds, floats, edgers, trowels, and other concrete finishing tools
- Apply curing materials and perform minor concrete repairs as needed
- Clean tools, equipment, forms, and work areas
- Perform other construction related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous concrete experience is required
- Experience finishing curb and gutter, sidewalks, and other concrete work is preferred
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting or carrying 50 pounds or more
- Must be able to commute to jobsite or central location
- Ability to work extended hours, early mornings, and overtime when project schedules require
- Some travel may be necessary
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- All employees are subject to random drug testing
