About This Role
Finishing concrete surfaces to a high standard, preparing sites, and setting up forms are the core duties of this role. The Concrete Finisher will work on various projects, from sidewalks to commercial slabs, bringing architectural visions to life. This position offers the chance to contribute to diverse construction initiatives and develop skills in concrete finishing and related trades.
Responsibilities
- Apply finishing techniques to concrete surfaces, ensuring smoothness, levelness, and proper texture according to project specifications
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, edgers, and screeds to achieve desired finishes
- Install rebar and formwork accurately based on blueprints and schematics to support concrete placement
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute tasks precisely
- Perform heavy lifting and maneuver heavy equipment safely during concrete pouring and finishing processes
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other trades to coordinate project tasks effectively
Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete finishing, formwork, rebar installation, or related construction roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery operation relevant to concrete work
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings used in construction projects
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as required on construction sites
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety protocols and quality standards in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of additional trades such as masonry, plastering, stucco application, or metal stud framing
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred for transportation of materials or equipment
