About This Role
Finishing concrete surfaces to high-quality standards and project specifications is the main purpose of this role. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about construction, with a focus on precision and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and texturing using hand tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers
- Install rebar reinforcement and set forms to shape concrete according to blueprints and schematics
- Operate power tools including concrete mixers, pumps, and vibrating screeds to facilitate efficient pouring and finishing processes
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to interpret project requirements accurately
- Execute concrete forming, rebar installation, and placement for various structures like slabs, walls, curbs, and decorative hardscape features
- Apply finishing techniques such as brooming, stamping, or sealing to achieve desired textures and appearances
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution
- Conduct restoration or renovation work involving stucco, plastering, or trim carpentry as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete finishing or related construction roles with a solid understanding of concrete work processes
- Mechanical knowledge of tools such as hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, pumps, vibrators, and screeds
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Strong knowledge of rebar installation, form setting, concrete pouring techniques, and finishing methods
- Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during demanding projects
- Construction site experience with safety-conscious practices in diverse environments such as commercial or renovation projects
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including forklifts or cranes
- Knowledge of masonry work including tile laying, flooring installation, stucco application or roofing
- Basic understanding of construction estimating processes
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred for site access or material transport roles
