About This Role
Finishing concrete surfaces on public and private paved areas, including roads and access ways, is the main task in this job. The role involves using hand and power tools and assisting with various construction duties as part of a crew.
Responsibilities
- Assist with curb, gutters, and drainage
- Help spread concrete as directed by the foreman or co-workers
- Assist construction and concrete crew with duties such as shoveling, finishing, flagging, and running a wheelbarrow
- Dig, spread, and level construction materials as needed
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment
- Always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public
Requirements
- Background in concrete finishing and general concrete construction
- Ability to be flexible with schedule changes, location changes, and time of shift changes
- Ability to adhere to PPE (personal protective equipment) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition as supplied by the company
- Physical ability to work under temperature extremes and for extended hours
- Initiative to learn to operate equipment required on a concrete construction crew

Important Details
- Schedule: Normal shift is 8-12 hours; overtime and weekend work may be required
