Concierge

About This Role

This concierge role serves as an ambassador for the community, providing a positive first impression to all who enter. The concierge executes receptionist and other administrative responsibilities to assist in the community's daily operations, ensuring excellent care and customer service for residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive first impression to all who enter the community
• Answer and screen all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner, routing calls and taking messages as appropriate
• Greet all visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
• Screen and require visitors to “sign in” at the reception desk
• Notify residents of visitors
• Instruct resident’s visitors according to resident’s instructions
• Receive and process incoming mail
• Accept all outgoing mail/packages
• Type, copy, order, and maintain inventory of office supplies, performing other clerical duties as assigned
• Maintain and update the Emergency Phone Number Log and keep the log at the front desk
• Maintain and update emergency contact information on each resident and keep information at the front desk
• Assist managers with various clerical responsibilities
• Page staff as necessary
• Take RSVPs for special functions, as necessary
• Oversee sign-up for scheduled transportation
• Hand out maintenance request forms and pass them onto the Environmental Services Director
• Perform other duties as necessary, including light housekeeping duties
• Follow all emergency procedures
• Understand all safety policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with all staff
• Immediately advise the Lifestyle Services Director, Resident Care Director, and General Manager of any changes in the physical and/or mental health of a resident

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and ability to relate to a variety of people and personalities
• Require considerable initiative and judgment
• Have word-processing and clerical skills
• Be able to work flexible hours and participate in holiday activities

Important Details

• Schedule: Required to work weekends and holidays as assigned; may be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired; may be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day)
