Computer Science Teacher

About This Role

This teaching post involves helping students learn computer science subject matter and develop skills that will contribute to their growth as mature, capable, and responsible members of society.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and follow the state course of study
• Determine individual and class needs
• Establish objectives and plan learning experiences
• Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere
• Exhibit positive human relations skills
• Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress
• Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups
• Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication
• Maintain and submit records and reports
• Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations
• Engage in personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with proper endorsement(s) for subject area(s)
