Compliance Officer

About This Role

This part-time Compliance Officer role supports the Asset Management team by managing safety data and ensuring residents' safety in their homes. The position involves vital administrative tasks across six key compliance areas and requires a detail-oriented individual comfortable with a fast-paced environment and system transitions.

Responsibilities

• Support three contract managers to ensure residents are safe in their homes
• Handle the vital administration behind the "big six" compliance areas (Gas, Electric, Fire, Water, Lifts, and Asbestos)
• Upload safety certificates
• Raise contractor orders
• Book urgent electrical checks with residents over the phone
• Prepare paperwork for legal access routes
• Keep records accurate during system transitions

Requirements

• Comfortable in an environment where everything can feel like a priority
• Able to handle requests from different managers while keeping an eye on the finish line
• Confident and empathetic when speaking with residents over the phone
• Able to use communication skills to explain why safety checks matter, especially when residents are reluctant to grant access
• Takes pride in ensuring data is 100% accurate, whether updating the MRI Orchard system or managing spreadsheets
• Willing to learn and interested in building a career in building safety (recent graduates or those with a high aptitude for systems are particularly encouraged)
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Ready to learn new housing management software
• Able to manage time effectively to ensure statutory duties are met during working hours
