About This Role
This role involves managing the full spectrum of compliance activities for the Singapore Branch, ensuring adherence to MAS regulatory guidelines and internal policies. The officer will also be responsible for implementing compliance projects and conducting training programs.
Responsibilities
- Disseminate MAS regulatory guidelines and correspondence, creating actionable items and ensuring timely implementation
- Vet all Branch policies, manuals, new products, change management requests, and operational procedures from a compliance perspective and provide sign-off
- Handle day-to-day compliance activities and guide colleagues to ensure full compliance with requirements of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Act, Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, and Financial Advisers Act
- Coordinate with the local regulator on a regular basis and during regulatory inspections
- Handle offsite and onsite inspections by the MAS and coordinate responses to all queries and matters raised
- Conduct compliance testing on adherence to regulations based on the bank-wide compliance testing program
- Review and check customer due diligence measures (for both onboarding and periodic review) performed by respective business units in relation to Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism (CDD) for the entire Branch portfolio
- Implement compliance and AML-related projects, software, and systems for the Singapore Branch
- Manage day-to-day transaction escalation from Business and ensure timely disposition of alerts
- Conduct training programs on AML/CFT
- Handle all outsourcing activities, ensuring compliance with notices and guidelines issued by MAS, including confidentiality requirements, ongoing monitoring and control, and on-site review
- Ensure timely submission of returns and reports to ICC
- Implement the EGRC framework for assessing compliance risk of the Branch
- Perform any other work as specified by the CEO and Head of Compliance
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in banks
