Compliance Officer

About This Role

The Compliance Officer supports the bank's compliance initiatives through regulatory dissemination, testing, monitoring, and risk assessment activities. This role provides administrative and operational support to the General Regulations Department, ensuring compliance activities are executed effectively and in line with established policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Execute compliance testing, regulatory dissemination, and monitoring activities in line with the Bank's Compliance Program and Board-Approved Compliance Plan
• Prepare compliance reports, maintain testing documentation, and recommend improvements to strengthen regulatory compliance and internal controls
• Monitor remediation plans and coordinate with business units to address compliance gaps and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
• Support compliance risk assessments, regulatory examinations, and the maintenance of compliance tools, inventories, and reference materials
• Promote compliance awareness and support stakeholder engagements to foster a strong culture of compliance across the Bank
• Provide administrative and project support to the General Regulations Department and assist with special initiatives as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Legal Management, or a related field
• Relevant experience in banking compliance, audit, risk management, or regulatory affairs, with a strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience in compliance testing, regulatory monitoring, risk assessment, and the preparation of compliance reports and documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess compliance risks, identify control gaps, and recommend practical solutions
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business units and interact with key regulatory and internal stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain a high level of accuracy, and deliver quality work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
