Complex Commercial Litigation Associate
A leading international law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its Complex Commercial Litigation practice in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-stakes disputes alongside a highly regarded litigation team with significant trial experience.
The role offers broad exposure across all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, expert development and trial work, while providing substantial responsibility and client-facing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex commercial litigation matters in Illinois state and federal courts
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and other substantive filings
- Manage all phases of discovery, including large-scale document and e-discovery matters
- Work with expert witnesses and support expert development strategies
- Take and defend depositions
- Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings
- Coordinate litigation strategy and case management across sophisticated matters
Who You Are
- 3rd year – 5th year associate
- Broad-based commercial litigation experience from a top-tier law firm or comparable experience through a Federal Court clerkship
- Experience managing complex discovery matters
- Strong motion practice and deposition experience
- Excellent research, writing and analytical skills
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Strong organisational and case management abilities
- Admitted to the Illinois State Bar
