Competition Compliance Specialist

About This Role

This role drives the independent execution of compliance initiatives within specific product domains or issue areas for Google's Risk, Compliance and Integrity organization. It suits a proactive problem-solver with strong program execution skills and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business controls.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide input on documents and specifications within defined timelines before transmission to Product Areas (PAs); partner with PAs and Product Area Compliance Leads (PACLs) to provide guidance on remediating compliance risks
• Partner with PAs to define and implement structured controls, helping teams use automated controls to reduce manual effort
• Conduct formal domain-specific risk assessments and execute risk management by providing non-legal inputs to inform inherent and residual risk ratings
• Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide stakeholders with visibility into compliance health
• Build and maintain control catalogs and solution inventories to demonstrate the active data infrastructure and resolve compliance issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of relevant domain regulations (e.g., competition, consumer protection, privacy, or security) and adjacent risk areas
• Understanding of compliance program management principles and internal control frameworks (e.g., Enterprise Controls Framework)
• Proven ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with cross-functional teams, PACLs, and product managers
