Community Manager & Community Connector

About This Role

This unique position combines two important roles within LifeLine Community Development Corporation: Community Center Manager and Community Connector. The role involves building relationships with neighborhood residents, discovering their gifts and aspirations, connecting people to resources, and helping residents become active participants and leaders in their neighborhoods, while also providing leadership and oversight of the community center, coordinating staff, and ensuring programs run successfully. It is ideal for someone who can move comfortably between relationships and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build genuine, consistent relationships with neighborhood residents and learn about their gifts, strengths, needs, interests, and dreams
• Spend time in the neighborhood, connect residents with one another, and help identify opportunities for resident-led activities and solutions
• Connect individuals and families with appropriate resources while encouraging independence, dignity, and personal agency
• Help plan and facilitate community gatherings, programs, workshops, events, and neighborhood activities
• Develop relationships with community partners and represent LifeLine CDC when appropriate
• Recruit, encourage, and support volunteers and help residents move from participation toward leadership
• Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the assigned community center
• Coordinate staff schedules, program coverage, center activities, interns, volunteers, and community service participants
• Develop strong, consistent working relationships with all direct reports by understanding their strengths, skills, goals, development needs, and areas where additional support may be beneficial
• Set clear expectations for staff and provide appropriate follow-up and accountability
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, work schedules, timesheets, and completion of assigned responsibilities
• Address routine staff or center concerns and communicate significant concerns to the Operations Director
• Ensure programs are appropriately planned, staffed, prepared, documented, and completed
• Oversee routine purchasing, supplies, receipts, and center spending within approved budgets and procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation, attendance records, service notes, and required program records
• Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, professional, and welcoming community center
• Communicate consistently with LifeLine leadership about center needs, staffing, programs, safety concerns, and opportunities
• Participate in LifeLine meetings, training, goal setting, and the 12-Week Year accountability process
