Communications Specialist

About This Role

This public-facing role combines audience engagement, relationship management, fundraising, public speaking, and project delivery to inspire and mobilise younger audiences to engage with global poverty through giving, advocacy, and positive action. You will engage with students, young adults, community leaders, and relevant organisations across England, speaking at events, conferences, and gatherings while developing strong relationships with groups and partners.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and engage younger audiences around global poverty and social action
• Speak and present at events, conferences, and gatherings across England
• Encourage audiences to take positive action, including through giving and advocacy
• Build and manage relationships with students, young adults, community leaders, and relevant organisations
• Develop networks that increase engagement with emerging generations
• Plan and manage multiple projects, events, and activities
• Work towards agreed targets and report on progress and outcomes

Requirements

• Experience engaging with students, young adults, community leaders, and relevant audiences
• Experience presenting or speaking to audiences and making clear calls to action
• Experience networking and managing relationships with groups and organisations
• Experience working towards, delivering, and reporting against targets
• Project management experience, with the ability to plan and manage multiple projects, events, and activities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
• Specific occupational requirement relating to our client’s organisational ethos

Important Details

• Schedule: part-time, 21 hours per week; occasional evening and weekend work required, with time off in lieu provided
• Contract: permanent
• Work format: hybrid, combining home working with attendance at the office in Teddington, as agreed with the line manager
