Communications Manager

About This Role

This Communications Manager role focuses on leading high-profile campaigns to showcase how funding from Dormant Assets is strengthening communities across England. The manager will work closely with government and senior stakeholders to build awareness, inspire participation, and demonstrate the impact of investments in programs like the Community Wealth Fund and Youth Enrichment Fund. The position is suited for a skilled communications professional passionate about community strengthening and improving lives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-profile communications campaigns supporting the distribution of Dormant Assets funding
• Build awareness, inspire participation, and demonstrate the impact of investment in funding programs
• Work closely with government and colleagues across the Fund to deliver integrated, multi-channel communications activities
• Help shape public understanding of schemes, inspire communities to engage, and build trust with key stakeholders
• Develop deep insight into programs to implement effective communications plans
• Support Strategic Communications Leads to build and manage matrix teams
• Design, develop, and deliver messaging, narrative, content, and social and brand assets
• Build positive relationships with government communications and policy counterparts, teammates, and colleagues across the Fund
• Work closely with the media team to deliver integrated activities, monitoring media and advising on opportunities and risks
• Ensure rapid response to emerging issues with processes and protocol on lines to take and spokespeople

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in a communications role within a complex organizational environment
• Track record in planning and delivering integrated communications campaigns
• Experience managing matrix teams
• Excellent content and copywriting abilities, used to producing assets to tight deadlines
• Able to adapt tone and style for different audiences and channels
• Experience in complex institutions, involving colleagues and stakeholders up to leadership level
• Project management abilities, confident working in a matrixed organization with competing deadlines
• Experience of strategic communications counsel and advising senior leaders and stakeholders, particularly in times of reputational risk and crisis management
• Experience of working in high-pressure situations and an ability to adapt calmly to changing deadlines and requirements with short notice

Nice to have:

• Experience in government and/or the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector
