About the role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects by evaluating project plans, specifications, material requirements, labor costs, and project timelines.
The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems and construction practices , strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop detailed estimates while communicating effectively with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
- Calculate material quantities, labor requirements, equipment, subcontractor costs, and project timelines.
- Analyze project requirements and identify potential cost risks or discrepancies.
- Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
- Develop competitive and accurate project bids.
- Perform takeoffs and maintain accurate estimating documentation.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams regarding project scope and pricing.
- Assist with bid negotiations and project handoff to operations.
- Maintain estimating records and update pricing information as needed.
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Utilize Bluebeam and other relevant estimating and construction software.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial roofing estimation is required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing materials, systems, and construction techniques.
- Understanding of commercial construction plans, specifications, and project scopes.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience performing construction material takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam is required.
- Experience with estimating software and other construction technology is preferred.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Santa Fe Springs, California . The successful candidate will work closely with estimating, project management, operations, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to ensure accurate and successful project bids.
