About This Role
Driving a company vehicle safely and efficiently to collect waste and recyclable materials from commercial customers is the main focus of this role. The driver will manage an assigned route independently, ensuring all stops are completed efficiently while providing professional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles while servicing assigned commercial routes
- Collect and transport waste, recyclables, and other approved materials
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and customer instructions
- Safely operate collection equipment and other vehicle equipment as required
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Properly secure materials and loads for transportation
- Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding route and service needs
- Complete required route records, paperwork, or electronic documentation
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work area
- Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures
- Provide professional and courteous customer service
- Report damaged containers, spills, unsafe conditions, or other service issues
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Previous commercial driving, delivery, waste collection, or similar experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate a company collection vehicle
- Ability to safely maneuver and operate collection equipment as required
- Ability to follow assigned routes, schedules, and instructions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to complete required paperwork or electronic documentation
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with commercial collection work
- Willingness to follow company policies, safety procedures, and operating instructions
