Collections Specialist

About This Role

Collecting on delinquent accounts and guiding debtors towards repayment is the core of this permanent Collections Specialist role. The position suits a detail-oriented individual with experience in debt recovery and familiarity with collection software.

Responsibilities

• Take recovery action on delinquent accounts, including contacting debtors, discussing repayment, and guiding where necessary to achieve account recovery
• Perform skip tracing and pay attention to detail in determining avenues for debt recovery
• Maintain account history on the internal collections system
• Ensure adherence to client directives
• Ensure the achievement of various client-centered and company targets
• Determine whether customer files are actionable via legal remedies and prepare support for same

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma
• At least three years of collections experience
• Familiarity with standard collection industry software
• Ability to adapt easily to custom-built collection software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work with a team

• College diploma in Paralegal Studies
