Collections Specialist

About This Role

This role is for a Collections Specialist to join a global finance team, responsible for collecting outstanding accounts receivable from customers worldwide. The specialist will work to resolve customer billing problems and reduce accounts receivable delinquency, contributing to a dynamic and growth-oriented company.

Responsibilities

• Work with management to design and implement structures, strategies, and procedures to exceed goals
• Make outbound collection calls professionally while maintaining and improving customer relations
• Contact clients prior to payment due date to identify and resolve payment delay matters before invoices age past due
• Resolve client-billing problems, contracts, and rescue accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner
• Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports
• Work with the Collections management team to implement process improvements and policies that contribute to accurate invoicing
• Send emails/mail correspondence to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts
• Identify and report to management collection issues attributing to account delinquency
• Work closely with project managers, sales teams, collections manager, billing, and cash posting teams
• Demonstrate use of effective collections techniques and negotiation skills while maintaining and improving customer relations
• Present information clearly and effectively when addressing individuals or groups of people
• Ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
• Thorough knowledge of international collection techniques, policies, and procedures
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to coach others and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

• Graduate degree preferred in Finance, Business, or Accounting
• At least three years of global collection experience
• Strong understanding of all accounts receivable processes, including billing and payment
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, written, and time management skills
• Attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
• Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
