Collections Specialist

About This Role

This Collections Specialist role focuses on managing outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive customer relationships. The position involves debt collection, reporting, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams to optimize collection processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and follow up with customers on overdue payments
• Send reminders and contact clients via phone or email for payment follow-up
• Negotiate payment plans with customers, if necessary, and work towards reducing overdue accounts
• Work with the Recovery team on bad debts and account escalations, when needed
• Prepare regular reports on the aging of receivables, collections performance, and any potential risks
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of collections activity
• Ensure proper documentation of collection efforts and resolutions
• Address customer inquiries and resolve payment disputes professionally
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments and repeat business
• Ensure a customer-friendly approach while adhering to company policies on credit and collections
• Work closely with the sales and finance teams to align on credit policies and payment collections
• Provide feedback on customers' payment behavior and propose changes to credit policies when necessary
• Identify opportunities to improve collection processes and optimize efficiency
• Assist in the development and implementation of new credit and collections strategies
• Undertake other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor from time to time

Requirements

• Degree in Finance or Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years in a related field - Finance

• Contract: 6 months temporary contract
